There is another advantage of niche marketing, over time as a marketeer you become experienced and everyone recognizes you. It then becomes difficult to dislodge you from the market. If you are serving local markets people develop an affinity for you as well as your products.
As Ted has put it rightly, the hardest part is to identify a niche and then serve it.

In every niche field you choose, go deep into it to select a product with less competition but more demand.

One way is to use a Niche Finder software, this will save you LOTS of time, this software will narrow down your BEST possible niche to target based off of the keywords that will be used by potential customers looking for your product.

Identify a niche by simply thinking of your passions, your hobbies, your interests. Within that list is your niche and an endless number of products.

I all agree with guys niche marketing is just a matter of positioning yourself in the market.it will take time but it will pay up be patient and be unique to be noticed.
